Ada & Lo, which opened in September 2021, is a family-owned boutique specializing in unique gifts for everyone! Let me tell you; they have absolutely anything and everything for anyone! Their hours are Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm.
“Carol Worsham opened the boutique after 40+ years in the real estate industry. She wanted to just do something in retirement that brought joy to people, and gift boutiques can certainly do that!” said Fred at Ada & Lo.
They are located at 390 Southland Drive, in Lexington, Ky!

I had the lovely chance of being invited by The Bluegrass Collaborative/Marie Pullen of Bluegrass Blog to see this gorgeous boutique a few weeks ago, and it was tough to leave without bags full of stuff! They have everything, including cups and jewelry – I even saw some cute Derby hats!
Overall, I believe this boutique is perfect all around, and if you need a gift to give, then this place has it! I saw some bridal stuff, Kentucky stuff, animal lover stuff, a whole variety of things to gift! So I suggest checking them out.

If you’re reading this blog post, it must be because you may have been busy and haven’t picked up a gift for a remarkable woman in your life. Well, you came to the right place! In this blog post (not sponsored), I will give you three ideas for a last-minute gift for her!
3. Gift Card(s)
This might be an obvious answer but honestly, if you’re going this route, think BIG. Do not just go to Kroger and get her a Starbucks gift card or a grocery store gift card, or even fast food… I promise you; there are much better options while supporting local!
The Kentucky Castle – The Kentucky castle is a wonderful place with quite a bit to do and they offer spa and dining services and experiences! Get a gift card online by clicking here. The Kentucky Castle is located in Versailles, Ky.
Gigi’s Boutique– Gigi’s is a small local boutique located in Wilmore, Kentucky! You can also purchase gift cards from her site!
Local Lex Market – A market dedicated to supporting local businesses, Local Lex is a great choice for any lady who loves shopping and supporting local! They are of course, located in Lexington, Ky! You can purchase a gift card by visiting their site.
There are so many places to pick from when getting gift cards! Just select which you think she would love best! Is she a shopper? Does she love luxury gifts? Does she value experiences over material items? Choose based on her personality or what you know she’ll love!
2. Create a Thoughtful Gift Basket
You can also shop locally in your area to create a beautiful and thoughtful gift basket. Nobody knows her well as you (I’m assuming), so things you could grab would be:
Self-care/love Items – Journal and pen, soap, eye mask, face masks, pedicure kits, self-care book, etc.
Comfort Items – Fuzzy socks, a nice robe, comfortable undergarments, nice pair of slippers, a nice throw blanket, new sheet and bedding set of her choice…
Her Favourite Candy/Snack
Movie(s)- Gather a few of her favourite movies or movies in her favourite genre neither of you have seen yet.
Gift Card – A few giftcards to local places, her favourite resturaunt/coffee house…
Those are just a few things you could mix up and put together!
1. An Experience
There are lot of experiences you could give her this Holiday season! Here are some ideas:
Take Her Skating– There are two skate rinks for ice skating in Lexington, Ky. The Lexington Ice Center and Triangle Park!
Have a Date at the Kentucky Catstle – The Kentucky Castle offers couples packages! Look into it.
Go to LexLive and Have a Movie/Date Night – LexLive is a newer venue in downtown Lexington, Ky that is just amazing, much better than an ordinary movie theatre! Check out their website!
Turning another year older is something some people dislike but for me, I enjoy it. The older you are, the more wise you become. Some dread birthdays but for me, I cherish them. I also love to document them and decided maybe people will want to know where I got some of this stuff like my outfit, jewelry, the balloons, the cupcakes… the sash and tiara? So I figured I would share a few things!
What I Did For My Birthday…
On Friday night I went out with friends to Texas Roadhouse and the Bar Complex in Lexington. We had so much fun and the drag show was a great watch! They even dragged me on stage with other people who were celebrating something and we did a ‘twerk-off’ … Nope, I didn’t win it either!
On Saturday I attended my niece’s (cousin’s, but she is just like my niece) Birthday Party! She turned 3 years old and that was a whole lot of fun. Her mother also made delicious cupcakes that were super tasty too! Later that evening Jacob (my Husband) had a surprise for me! We ended up at my favourite restaurant, O’Charley’s and then we went to the new attraction in Lexington called, Lex Live where we watched Mortal Kombat which is one of my fave series game and TV entertainment EVER! It was such a good movie and I give it a 100/10! The movie theatre at Lex Live was so nice and I very much enjoyed myself! Thank you again Jacob for taking me on this awesome surprise date night for my Birthday!
On Sunday (my actual Birthday – May 16th) we stayed home and chilled and my parents and grandparents came over to spend time with me. My dad cooked my favourite plate (cheesy mashed potatoes, ribs, cooked carrots & corn) and it was really good! Overall, I had a really nice birthday!
Where I Got Everything…
I found it to be so pretty and perfect for 68 degree F weather!
The cupcakes are always the most important part for me because no matter how old you grow, blowing out candles are so fun and I’ve always made 1 wish on my birthday every year when blowing them out! Who doesn’t want to make a birthday wish on their Birthday? So anyways, the cupcakes are a very important part for me so I always try and purchase them locally from a small local business. This year I chose to purchase from Baking Fairytales by Misbah! I tasted their delicious baking at the past Bluegrass Creatives Market and I knew I had to remember this business for my Birthday! The cupcakes were so delicious (I chose vanilla and strawberry) and the textures were richly fine. I LOVED THE COLOURS as well. They really made these cupcakes stand out beautifully. I definitely recommend Baking Fairytales for your children’s or your birthday or any other event that is in need of a tasty cake or scrumptious cupcakes! Want a better look at them? I have been going back and forth between the Kiss lash liner glue and Glamnetic’s magnetic lash liner! But for my birthday I was wearing Vogue (my favourite lash style by Glamnetic) and I felt so pretty with this touch of lash! You can check out their lashes by clicking HERE.
Overall I had an amazing Birthday Weekend and am excited to live my 23rd year!
