Stanford, Kentucky, is the second oldest settlement in Kentucky. This lovely small town was founded in 1775 by Benjamin Logan. Fun fact: their main street was built on the Buffalo Trail! And many buildings you see are that of older architecture, which really helps alleviate Stanford’s old town charm.

Stanford Inn
Our first stop was the Stanford Inn, which is beautiful in so many ways! The history, architecture, and how this adorable inn was decorated had my jaw on the floor throughout the tour! The building historically served downtown Stanford, and the rooms are preserved in the same layout as in 1925. his charming inn also contains artifacts related to the early settlement of Stanford! I can definitely see my husband and I taking a baby moon staycation here! Down the road (within walking distance) is a spa that would be perfect to try out before the baby comes! Or, in general, for anyone planning a staycation or visiting from out of town.

Bluebird Cafe
The next stop was lunch at the Bluebird Café! We got to try their delicious appetizers, which included fried green tomatoes, Bluebird chips, and smoky pork belly bites, my favourite being the chips. For my entree, I decided on a burger with fries. All their meat is locally sourced and absolutely worth it! I got to try their tasty apple cider float, which made a great Fall dessert!

Guest House – Stanford Inn
One of the guest houses of the Stanford Inn was our third stop! This gorgeous house was to live for! The bathing area upstairs had a chokehold on me! I could imagine someone enjoying their vacation with their S.O. while sipping on wine with bubbles in the tub. The stained glass window was a fantastic touch for this home. Everything about this guest house is something you’d see on the set of a Hallmark movie!

Kentucky Soaps and Such
Lastly, we got to visit Kentucky Soaps and Such! Their products are homemade, and their hand soap is ideal as it doesn’t leave a weird sticky residue on your hands like other soaps. Some of their products include: (list them off). I’m excited to try their Healing Body Cream, as they say it’s great for scars and stretch marks! We also took their tour to learn about how their products are made. Though we didn’t get to see or pet any goats, we understood that they often use goat milk for their products! The tour was very thorough, and I enjoyed everything about it! P.S. They offer shipping.
