I have tried a handful of breast pumps, and I plan to try more as time goes on, so you better buckle up, save this post/bookmark this webpage so you can come back, as I will be updating this post consistently as I continue to try even more breast pumps. I will rate my breast pumps from just okay to the best in this post! So, I’ll save the best pumps that worked for me for last.
The pumps will be reviewed and ranked based on efficiency, how easy the parts are to wash, how long the motors last/how the motors work, and how many let-downs the pumps triggered during a single pumping session. I will add additional commentary on how long I’ve had the pump, whether I bought the pump on my own or it was sent to me to review – so please be sure to read the context after noting the place I have ranked them.
For your reference, my anatomy is as follows: I wear a 36DD, and I am a size 15mm nipple. However, depending on the pump, I use flange inserts sized 15 mm to 19 mm. I have elastic nipples. Keep in mind that what works for some may not work for others, and I am providing details about my anatomy to help you further in your decision-making process if you wish to invest in one of these breast pumps. I’d hate for someone to waste their money. I’ve found that what really works for me when it comes to breast pumps is silicone flanges/flange inserts, long tunnels so the elastic nipples can stretch and efficiently remove the milk, and modes that allow me to use the pump to mimic as if my baby was actually eating. So, mimicking an infant nursing. Those things I’ve found are very helpful for my anatomy and efficiently removing milk with a hands-free or even a wall/portable breast pump.
Small disclaimer: Some of these pumps do have discount codes that I will offer if you’d like to try them out for yourself. I’m not trying to sell anything, just sharing what has and hasn’t worked well for me through my words in hopes that my experiences can help someone else choose what pump they’d like to get or at least look more into before buying. Feel free to check my pump and pour videos out on TikTok and Instagram, and scroll through to get an idea of how these pumps have worked for me. Without further ado, let’s start ranking!
Rating System Explained:
• Volume of Motors on a 1-10 rating. Comfort being Bad, Decent, Good, Great.
• Suction being Weaker, Decent, Good, Strong.
• Battery Life based on the number of pumping sessions without charging the motor(s).
• How discreet they are overall on a 1-10 rating with 1 being not discreet at all and 10 being super discreet.

Phanpy E-Joy S2
I rate these a 1.7/5. These are okay. They are easy to wash and put together but still need a good bendy brush to clean them. They’re not really discreet noise-wise, but having an app you can use to control these pumps makes it more convenient if you’re on your phone while pumping. The app is pretty cool. These just didn’t work as well for me as for other moms. The battery life is okay; they lasted me two pump sessions within an 8 hr work day without being charged. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I get about two letdowns with this pump. I was gifted this pump to review and used it for about four weeks. They aren’t bad, they’re just not the best pumps for me and my anatomy.

Springhope 538 – Discontinued
I rate these 2/5. These pumps are discreet, cute, and interesting. But these weren’t for me either because they have a short tunnel/flange, and I couldn’t use long tunnel flange inserts because the pump’s design is so interesting. The battery life for these is pretty good and lasts me for three pump sessions without being charged in an 8 hr work day. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I get around two to three letdowns with this pump, depending on it just does not efficiently remove the milk from me. These were also gifted to me to review. Oh and they also have a light in them! Makes night pumps kind of awesome and cozy.

Spectra S2
3/5. It was the first pump I ever tried, and it’s a wall pump. However, it doesn’t work for me as well as it works for other moms. I got it with my insurance, as everyone suggested this pump. There aren’t a lot of parts to wash, which is always a good thing! I use my Pumpin Pal silicone flanges to get much more, though! Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I am lucky to get two letdowns in one thirty-minute session. Usually the second letdown happens when the session is almost over, with the Pumpin Pal flanges, I do get two let downs fairly quicker.

Zomee Fit Wearable
3/5. Difficult to wash and time-consuming to put together. But I do enjoy these pumps, and they’re really easy on my nipples. However, the tunnels for these are short and similar to the Springhope 538 but slightly longer. I use the Zomee flange inserts for this pump, and they remove milk from me, but I don’t feel they remove efficiently enough when compared to the other pumps on this list. The pumps are fairly quiet and discreet! The battery life on these seems to be decent. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes or until it senses the pump is almost full. These pumps are more high-tech than the others on this list but easy to figure out! I was gifted this pump to review, and you can actually read a longer review of mine on these pumps by clicking here.

Kissbobo 1508
3.2/5. These are good, and they used to be my regular go-to pumps. The volume level isn’t too bad, but they’re not discreet, either. The cups are smaller than others with this design, but they’re really cute pumps, too. The battery life on these is amazing! They lasted four to five pump sessions without charging them. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I would get the normal amount of letdowns as well with this pump. I was gifted this pump to review, but I really enjoyed it; I still use it from time to time.

MomCozy S12
3.5/5. These are good pumps, but you really gotta wash them because the residue sticks everywhere, and it takes a minute to really get the parts cleaned. The suction is also VERY strong. You have to be careful because I cracked my nips with these pumps. The battery life is also really good, as when I went to go back to these after 2 days of not using them, they turned on and started working right away without being charged. Very good battery life. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I get one to two letdowns using this pump per session. I bought this one on my own, but I would not buy it again, to be honest.

Phanpy E-Rosy

3.5/5. The pump is a hands-free pump with cups that can fit in pretty much any bra you already have. It also has a lanyard to make it easy to take on-the-go! The cups are very comfortable and I had great output with these. I used the Nuliie 17mm flange inserts with these. The battery life is also really good on this. The suction is light, but it still extracts milk efficiently. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes and has a locking feature for modes and levels so they don’t change by accident. They’re not discreet, but they aren’t super loud either.

NCVI Double Breast Pump

3.8/5. They’re not discreet at all!!! The pump talks to you. However, they do look like headphones, so maybe you could get away with playing it off in public if you pump with them. The motor will talk to you as you change through modes and levels. There is no visual timer, but they do cut off after 30 minutes. The motor volume/vibration is not discreet either. They are effective for me though but not as effective as other pumps I’ve tried. The cups are a hard plastic flange instead of a silicone flange. I haven’t tried the motors with any other cups yet. Not my favourite, but they’re not bad.

NCVI 8131 Wearables

3.9/5. These NCVI wearables are much better than the headphone looking ones! These have a silicone flange, compared to the hard plastic those ones had. These are also pretty comfortable, but aren’t quiet at all. They do compare to the MomMed S21s, as they both share the same look/size of duckbill. They empty pretty well too.

Momfree F6

4.1/5 This is a wearable hands-free breast pump set that is affordable, but also works like a charm. Very comparable to the MomMed S21s, and they’re kind of discreet. They aren’t too loud, but I can hear when they’re on. My co-worker actually said she couldn’t hear them when we were in the office typing away at work if that helps you get a sense of the volume of the motors and their vibration. The pour is SUPER SMOOTH and they’re lightweight. Momfree also has the best customer service I have experienced in the market if you were to ever have any issues. They’re easy to wash, and come with a carrying case! These are in my regular rotation currently. These pumps in intervals of 30 minutes and do cut off on their own – especially before they overflow which is a super cool feature.

MomMed S21
I rate these 4.1/5. The MomMed S21s are another favourite set of pumps of mine! I love these pumps. They’re easy to wash and share a similar design with the Lansinoh Discreets. These pumps work so well for me. The battery life for these is comparable to the Momcozy S12s and is really good. Pumps in intervals of 20 minutes. I am able to get two letdowns per 20-minute pump session. I was gifted these to review, and LOVE THEM.

Springhope 3398

4.2/5 is the rating I will give this breast pump. It’s portable, and comes with wearable cups so that was great for me since wearable cups work better for me than traditional flanges. The flange tunnel on them though is shorter than my elastic nipples need, but they still work pretty well for me despite that. They’re VERY EASY to wash, as there aren’t a lot of parts to take apart or put back together that require getting really in the nook and crannies to clean. The battery life is decent, and the comfort of the cups is there. They also aren’t too strong to where they will rip your nipple off, while still being effective. The pump isn’t heavy, and does have a clip for you to use if you are going to be standing while using them which is a very use

Zomee Z2
4.5/5. This pump was a pump that I traded for. The suction and the flanges are better for me when I compare this pump to the Spectra. The Zomee Z2s aren’t loud, but not too quiet either, and the parts are easy to clean. There are a lot of parts to clean, but the pump’s motor and efficiency are worth it for me. The battery life on these is really good. It lasts me a few days without charging them! Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. I am able to get up to three letdowns with this pump per session!

NVCI 8782

4.6/10. This pump is sooo quiet! But it is portable, not wearable, so you’ll have to carry it or have it out with you. I do however, use wearable cups with this as their traditional flanges that came with these, did not work at all for me. But, the flanges are comparable to the Zomee z2 and identical to their NCVI 8122 flanges, so I’m unsure why the ones with these, didn’t work for me. The motor is so pretty, and slick. It does take a few times to really get the hang of this pump, and how it works, and to get your settings perfect that work for you. You can pump with one flange, or two! It doesn’t have a clip or lanyard either so that is a bummer. But overall, I do like these pumps and have them in my rotation currently. This pump is very affordable and beautiful!

Lansinoh Discreet Duos
I rate these 4.7/5. These pumps are a top fave of mine! They remove milk very efficiently for me and are comfortable and gentle on the nipples. There also aren’t a lot of parts to keep up with and wash like other wearable hands-free pumps. Battery life is decent, but not as good as others, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. These pumps also pump in 20-minute intervals. Pumps in intervals of 20 minutes. I get the normal two letdowns per session with these. I was gifted these to review (the first set ever gifted to me), and I LOVE these pumps so much. I wish I had a discount code I could give you all for these to be quite honest.

Pumpables Genie Advanced

5/5. This is comparable to the Spectra, but much better in my opinion. I bought these with the liquid breast shields but unfortunately, the shield flanges do not work for me, so I use these with the Phanpy E-Rosy cups! This is regularly being used by me almost nightly and sometimes during the day. It is wall-grade and portable! The battery life on this is also immaculate and I’m so glad I invested in this pump. I definitely recommend this over the Spectra S2. They don’t cut off on their own, so you’ll have to set a timer and/or pay attention to the time you’ve pumped! This pump isn’t too discreet, but it’s also not loud either. Very effective. One of my latest favourite pumps!

NCVI 8122

5/5. I feel that it’s just as strong, if not, stronger than my Spectra wall pump. It has great battery life, and can also work with wearable cups, though, I actually responded very well to the traditional flanges this motor came with. I like to use these with my Phanpy E-Rosy cups, like I use with all the other portable pumps I own as well. It’s not quiet, but it is also far from loud as well. Unfortunately, there is no clip or lanyard that makes it easier to carry, but the strength of the pump makes that part bearable.

Springhope 586
5/5. These have been my favourite go-to pumps while I work from home or even out and about. They’re loud, but they work the best for me. Better than any other pumps I’ve tried so far. The suction is strong, and the tunnel works well for elastic nipples, in my opinion. These pumps are not discreet at all, though; the cup is really big compared to other cups for pumps. But it is a really great pump. The battery life is decent. Pumps in intervals of 30 minutes. The cups are also a bit on the bigger side. I also am able to get two to three let downs per session using this pump! I was also gifted these, but have bought replacement parts.

Also, regardless of brand name, different pumps will work with different people. Take my review, as well as others, with a grain of salt, and please keep in mind your anatomy when picking a pump set to spend money on. I understand that in this economic climate, women can’t just spend money on anything at any time. Definitely make an informed decision before purchasing your next set of pumps. I am grateful that I can offer a % off of some of these on my list, but again, do thorough research!
